On the 31st of May 2024, Northrise University proudly unveiled its newest architectural gem: The Aikins Family School of Engineering Building. This momentous occasion marked a significant milestone in the university’s journey and a historic leap forward in its mission to become a premier Christian institution in Southern Africa, dedicated to nurturing students for their distinct God-given purposes.
Thanks to the unwavering vision of the Zimbas and the relentless efforts of the Aikins family, this state-of-the-art facility stands as a testament to their commitment to excellence in education. With modern classrooms, cutting-edge laboratories, and collaborative spaces designed to ignite creativity and foster practical learning, the Engineering Building is poised to become the epicenter of innovation and discovery at Northrise University.
Amidst a gathering of esteemed guests, including university officials, sponsors, and the President of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ), the ribbon-cutting ceremony was a moment of great pride and anticipation. Mr. Aikins delivered an impassioned speech, echoing the sentiments of Nelson Mandela, reminding us all that what may seem impossible can become reality through determination and perseverance.
As the ribbon fell, signaling the dawn of a new era for Northrise’s engineering program, the audience erupted in applause, filled with hope and excitement for the future. The Aikins Family School of Engineering Building represents not just a building, but a beacon of opportunity and possibility for generations to come.
But our journey doesn’t end here. At Northrise University, we believe in continually striving for excellence. Currently, we are diligently working towards the accreditation of our Civil Engineering program, with fervent prayers for the brightest minds to be enrolled in 2025.
