  • 4

    Submit Your Application

    No matter how you apply, please ensure you thoroughly complete the application form and attach all required documentation. Failure to do so will prohibit processing, and late receipt of your documentation will delay consideration.

    Documentation may include, but not be limited to, certified copies of your GCE (or equivalent) certificate, transcripts and awards from previous study, and proof of your identity (NRC or passport).

    International applicants are required to furnish proof of English proficiency and/or Zambian Citizenship or Residency Permit, where applicable.

    Be sure to pay close attention to application deadlines. Applications received after the closing date will only be considered if:

    • you are willing to complete the application process prior to orientation week;
    • you will not require additional processing, such as obtaining a visa;
    • vacancies within the program for which you applied remain.
  • 5

    Pay the Application Fee

    Your application is only considered complete after you pay a non-refundable Application for Admission Fee:

    • Undergraduate Program Applications:
      • K120.00 for Zambian and SADC member state applicants;
      • K200.00 for international applicants
    • Postgraduate Program Applications:
      • K200.00 for Zambian and SADC member state applicants;
      • K300.00 for international applicants

    Proceed to make your payment by depositing either cash or a cheque payable to Northrise University or transfer funds using the following details:

    Bank: First National Bank
    Account Name: Northrise University
    Branch: Ndola Main Branch
    A/C No.: 0062757671237

    NOTE: Obtain your Application ID number and use it as your Bank Reference Number for all your payments before enrollment.

    Await Your Admission Decision

    Wait to be contacted by telephone, SMS, or email from the Admissions office, which will inform you your status or if any further information or documentation is required. If you have been accepted, you will be informed of the date you may obtain your Acceptance Package.

  • 7

    Pay Your Intent to Register Fee

    If accepted, you will receive an Offer of Admission letter either by email or to be obtained in person at the Main Campus. If you decide to attend Northrise University, you must pay an Intent to Register Fee in order to secure your place.

  • 8

    Make Your Tuition Payment

    Following your acceptance and then the remittance of your Intent to Register Fee, you will receive a Student ID. You will then need to make a tuition payment, either in full or at least half the amount required for your registered courses.

  • 9

    Attend Welcome/Orientation Week

    Your acceptance letter includes the dates for our mandatory orientation, which will be held the week before regular classes begin. Before attending, you will need to obtain your orientation package from the Admissions Office or online. An online orientation is also offered to our online students.*

    Currently, online certifications are available 100% online.

If you have completed all nine steps, we congratulate you on becoming a bonafide student at Northrise University!

Readmission

If you are resuming your studies following a break period for whatever reason, you must apply for readmission if you:

  1. previously attended NU and are returning,
  2. have not been enrolled in any course for more than one academic year,
  3. in either case, had voluntarily withdrawn in good academic standing, or
  4. are returning following the lifting of a suspension

Determination of your ability to be readmitted will be primarily based upon your prior academic record at NU, as well as the contents of your transcripts from any other institution you had attended.

Students seeking readmission following a record of poor standing and the service of a full suspension are required to submit two academic recommendation letters, one of which must be from a member of the NU academic committee. An interview will follow.

To apply for readmission:

  1. Complete the Application for Readmission form.
  2. Submit an official transcript from any other institutions attended after NU.
  3. Pay the Application for Readmission fee (consult the 2023 Fees Schedule and Refund Policy, p. 8 for fee amounts).
  4. Await processing.
