BBA Program Overview
The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) is a four-year degree which provides broad-based knowledge that prepares students for a wide range of careers in a global economy. Students apply essential competencies such as business law, management theories, problem solving, decision-making, organizational behavior, entrepreneurship, global business issues, and leadership.
BBA Program Objectives
On successful completion of the Bachelor of Business Administration graduates will be able to:
- Demonstrate an understanding of the concepts, processes and procedures relevant to public and private organizations.
- Identify and evaluate the environments within which business is conducted.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of the principles of accounting, economics, quantitative methods, and information systems.
- Relate organizational theory and behavior to a business enterprise.
- Identify, analyze and solve business problems.
- Demonstrate effective communication skills.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the importance of high ethical standards in business decision-making.
- Gain knowledge that will prepare them for further studies in various disciplines related to business administration.

- Accounting: The Accounting Minor equips prospective business executives with tools for intelligent analysis, planning, control, and decision making. BFA Program Overview
This degree provides students with knowledge of financial environments and modern analytical techniques. Students learn to understand a broad range of finance areas including business finance, accounting, investment management, international financial management, and financial economics. Graduates will be equipped for a career in stock brokering, financial services, and business.
Upon successful completion, the students will have a variety of career options to select ranging from financial services, banker, insurance, financial planner, financial adviser, funds manager, financial analyst, industrial analyst, investment analyst, investment banker, security analyst, underwriter, options/future trader, treasury, foreign exchange trader/officer, share trader, lending officer, finance officer, corporate or policy adviser, business consultant, research officer, business economist and so on.
BFA Program Objectives
At the completion of the program, students should be able to:
- Demonstrate strong communication skills.
- Identify, analyze and solve problems in different decision contexts.
- Think constructively and logically.
- Make effective and creative use of modern technologies.
- Acquire specific knowledge and skills relevant to their major study areas.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the principles of accounting, finance, economics, and business law.
- Satisfy educational entrance requirement of relevant professional bodies such as the Zambia Institute of Certified Accountants (ZICA).
Program Major
Students who embark on this major will have knowledge and skills in both Finance and Accounting thus this program does not provide for minors.
