Campus Center Construction Progress

The new Campus Center is nearing completion with occupancy by staff and students planned in April.  The building of the Campus Center and related campus infrastructure is the largest Northrise project to date totaling over $3.2 million.  The completion of this amazing project is significant to fulfilling the mission of Northrise University and the vision to “empower the people of Zambia, ONE STUDENT at a time”.  The Campus Center includes a 200-seat auditorium, technology center, library, cafeteria, student recruitment and advisement center, staff and faculty offices and a nursing lab.

Funding of $400,000 is still needed to complete furnishing the building and to complete supporting infrastructure including parking lots, roadways and the main entrance before moving forward and completing Phase I of the master plan and related capital campaign.

While the largest Northrise project to date, it continues to be one of the largest building projects in the city of Ndola.  The project has put over $1.5 million back into the local and regional economies by providing jobs for local workers and contractors and procuring materials from local suppliers.  Project management was provided by Ian Banda from Linza Consult LTD located in Lusaka.

Northrise founders Dr. Moffat and Doreen Zimba have provided daily oversight and stewardship of the project they had envisioned and prayed about for many years.  From the beginning the purpose of this project and everything that is done by Northrise University has been to bring glory to God and to praise Him for the things He has done.  The Campus Center has risen from the ground as a testament of God’s goodness, love and grace upon the people of Zambia.  It is about Him and the people of Zambia and empowering them to rise up out of poverty and despair through a relationship with Him and the power of a high quality education.  Thank you for investing and continuing to invest in this amazing work.  The future is bright!
