Naomie TwiningeNaomie, a recent graduate, feels proud of her accomplishments.  She says that for the first time in a long time she has finally come to believe in herself and, with the help of God, can accomplish anything she sets her mind to.  While she struggled academically her first year, by year two her goals and vision were clear and she was determined to be successful.  Naomie’s academic success is evident. “Being among the students awarded certificates for academic excellence really gave me a drive and something to smile about.”  She was able to prove to herself that with dedication and diligence, she can attain her goals.

Naomie not only thrived academically at Northrise, she also grew spiritually and personally.  While at Northrise Naomie was reminded of who she was supposed to be in Jesus and rededicated her life to Christ in 2013.  The experience of living in the dorms encouraged her to work as a team and helped her to realize that she needed to accommodate others.  Naomie beautifully describes her transformation saying, “I have learnt to be friendly and humble. Most importantly I learnt to be an ambassador of Christ even in my social circles.”

Northrise helped to prepare her to join the workforce.  Her classes were relevant and beneficial.  She is currently employed in Kalulushi, 48 miles north of Ndola, as a Technical Administrative Assistant.  In class she was able to virtually practice what she is currently doing in reality.  She would like to advance in her career so that she can start her own business in the field of technology.
