New Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program Approved by the General Nursing Council of Zambia

After months of preparation the staff of Northrise University was privileged to host the General Nursing Council of Zambia (GNCZ) for a site inspection on February 15^th in preparation for program certification. The inspection of the campus including the nursing lab, classrooms, dormitory, cafeteria, and common areas went very well. Review of curriculum and staff requirements occurred earlier in the process.

On March 2, 2018 Northrise University received official approval from the GNCZ to commence the new Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program (BScN). Building on the strong foundation of high quality, affordable, private Christian higher education, Northrise University will now participate in the training and development of quality healthcare professionals for the nation of Zambia with a heart for God and others. Dr. Zimba shared, “the addition of the BScN program is an answer to prayer and a significant step forward to achieving our vision, we are in awe of God’s goodness.”

The BScN degree is a four and a half year competency-based program aimed at producing nursing graduates as General Registered Nurses (GRN) who will be able to provide comprehensive quality nursing care with a heart of service. General Registered Nurses serve on the frontlines of healthcare in Zambia and the opportunity to train qualified nurses in a Christ-centered environment with state-of-the-art technology is part of the Northrise vision to transform Zambia, one student at a time. BScN program enrollment will begin in April with the first classes beginning in August of this year.
