Program Overview:

This one year program aims to equip current and prospective teachers with the knowledge and skills relevant for course design, implementation, delivery, and evaluation. This program empowers professionals involved in teaching or training others with a proper understanding of effective methods and strategies for teaching and training.

Program Objectives:

The objectives of this programme are to:

Enhance the teaching ability of current and aspiring teachers

  1. Impart a working knowledge of teaching methodology and perspectives
  2. Facilitate the development of students’ own philosophy of education
  3. Analyze learner characteristics and needs
  4. Teach learners to develop curricula and course content to meet the needs of learners
  5. Help students to discern how to effectively deliver course content
  6. Teach students to apply the most appropriate techniques for evaluating learning
  7. Equip students with skills in relevant technologies and techniques for teaching
  8. Prepare students to be employed as effective teachers or trainers

PGDipTM Award Eligibility

To be eligible for the award of the Post-Graduate Diploma in Teaching Methodology (PGDipTM), students must satisfy the following requirements:

Completion of the following courses:

  • Introduction to APA
  • Introduction to Teaching
  • Sociology of Education
  • Educational Psychology
  • Curriculum Development
  • Information Technology for Education
  • Education Policies and Standards
  • Biblical Perspectives in Teaching
  • Teaching Methodology Practicum       
  • NU Education Policies and Standards (only required for NU instructors)           

Overview

Human Resources Management introduces students to strategies for managing people in the workplace via the theory and practice of human resource management. It outlines key issues in the management of people as resource in the organization and the development of organizational strategies, policies, and processes relating to their use. The program is targeted at anyone who seeks to gain skill and competence in Human Resource Management or for anyone likely to be involved in managing people within an organization. Human resources are among the most important of all resources for all organizations and are thus crucial for their success.

 

Objectives

The objectives of this program include:

  1. Introduce Zambian labor laws and any other laws applicable to human resource management practice
  2. Introduce theories and models applicable to human resource management
  3. Develop human resource management and research skills and equip learners for intermediate human resource management practice
  4. Prepare students for middle-level employment and to further their education with higher qualifications

DipHRM Award Eligibility
