Alumni BBQ

On March 7^th 2018, Northrise University hosted the first ever Northrise Alumni Get Together Barbeque at the Northrise University Main Campus. The event attracted nearly 60 Alumni who had a wonderful time of recounting the joys of having being at Northrise and their journeys thereafter.

A key note guest was Moriah Weston, the Coordinator for ACCI Relief (ACCIR). ACCI Relief is currently the funding arm of the Northrise University Alumni Office and the Alumni Association. Through Northrise Australia Initiative (NAI), ACCIR partnered with Northrise University in August of 2016 to establish the Office. Today, ACCIR continues to fund the Alumni Office, as well its community based training programs.

In her remarks, Moriah shared her role in monitoring and training through ACCIR. She further expressed her anticipation to witness the things that the Alumni Association will achieve in positively impacting the Zambian community and her excitement to work alongside.

Mrs Kalelwa C. Chitete, the Alumni Coordinator, welcomed everyone in her opening remarks and expressed her excitement for the work that Northrise Alumni could possibly accomplish if they worked together.

Mrs Nshindano, the Media and Communications Manager, shared on the newly implemented Go Far Campaign, a brand and recruitment campaign that focuses on building the Northrise image by sharing various aspects of the University including Alumni success stories in an effort to increase visibility and reach. She encouraged Alumni to participate in the campaign by sharing their success stories as these stories are all unique, special and attest to the quality education and success of Northrise graduates.

A first ever alumni executive was also ushered in during the event. Elections and nominations had occurred in the second week of January, 2018 for the positions of Alumni Executive President, Alumni Executive Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and 5 Committee Members. With the executive in place, the Alumni Association is ready for service.

The event ended with a group photoshoot of all Alumni.
