Guidelines for Indoor & Outdoor Campus Events
Following are the guidelines when hosting Academic or Business-related events, Chapel, Learning Groups, social gatherings on or off-campus, or permitting external third-party events and gatherings.
TAKE NOTE:
- Our COVID-19 requirements and guidelines may change quickly and have the potential to impact your event in response to local authorities or state guidelines and/or pronouncements.
- Event hosts and organizers are responsible to ensure that all COVID-19 measures and protocols are implemented before, during, and after an event.
- All attendees from age 2 and above MUST WEAR A MASK irrespective of their COVID-19 vaccination status.
- Northrise University reserves the right to cancel/stop an event if the guidelines are not adhered to.
HIGH ALERT STATUS GUIDELINES:
Following are the guidelines to be followed when the Zambian Government declares Level 4 - National High Alert due to rising/high transmission rate.
- Online Events Encouraged: Online events are preferred over On-site Event
- Minimized Time on Campus: Students are encouraged to stay at home and only be on Campus when having classes.
- Appointment/Help via Email: Visiting staff or faculty in their offices or working spaces is prohibited. Students should instead email, phone in, or use other electronic means to seek help or support. If a face-to-face meeting is absolutely necessary, an appointment must be granted before a student can be allowed access.
INDOOR ROOM CAPACITY GUIDELINES:
Following are the guidelines when hosting an event within indoor spaces and venues.
Room Capacity: Indoor spaces, rooms, and venues MUST NOT be filled to their normal capacity during events. The COVID-19 Room Capacity should be followed instead. The COVID-19 Room Capacity allows for a room set up that accommodates one-meter spacing between tables and/or chairs.
Ventilation: All rooms and/or spaces hosting events MUST be well ventilated. All accessible windows must be opened before the event and closed after the event.
Admission Rights: NU Security and Event Hosts have the right to deny admission into an event to any individual (student or staff) who is not adhering to the set COVID-19 regulations for that event.
OUT-DOOR EVENTS GUIDELINES:
Following are the guidelines when hosting an outdoor event.
Venue Capacity: Except for the Ampithearther, there is no limit on venue capacity for outdoor spaces. However, the setup must accommodate one-meter spacing between chairs and/or tables.
Masking Up: All attendees age 2 and above are required to mask up for all events including Outdoor events.
Setting Expectations: With outdoor events, many people rarely feel the need to follow the COVID-19 regulations. It is therefore incumbent on the hosts to remind attendees to follow COVID-19 public health requirements, and NU regulations before and during an event.
