Northrise Set Me on the Path to Greatness

I walked into Northrise in January 2013 as one of the pioneering students of the Law program. I planned to study and pass time before going to University of Zambia, where I would study medicine. However, I fell in love with the way Northrise delivered the Law program and decided to stay. I realized I needed to tie my shoelaces and run after my GPA a few months into the program. My early decision to work hard soon paid off. I received recognition for my outstanding academic performance in my first year. Out of this came a private scholarship and Financial Aid, allowing me to complete my four year studies without financial strain.

A Once in a Lifetime Opportunity

While in my second year, I heard of an opportunity to attend The Study of the U.S. Institute on Women’s Leadership at the University of Delaware. One of the requirements was outstanding academic performance, which became my motivation to apply. I was accepted with three others from Zambia. I traveled to the U.S. for a six-week program which also included a memorable site tour. Among other places, I visited the White House, Washington Memorial, and New York City where I turned 21. My greatest benefit from the leadership program was the change in perspective and desire to dream bigger.

Upon my return to Northrise, I continued to work hard. I excelled in my academics and achieved academic recognition. In my last year of school, I was offered a job in the legal department of First Quantum Minerals, Zambia’s biggest mining firm. This came as an honor especially as I had not yet completed my undergraduate studies. To me, this is a testimony of the quality of students that Northrise produces each year. I proudly graduated from Northrise University in June 2017. In the same month, I gained acceptance into The University of Edinburgh’s Masters of Human Rights program.

Today I am so grateful. I am thankful to God for giving me an opportunity to study, to my sponsors for making it possible to attend Northrise, and to Northrise for giving me the chance to aim for excellence in every area of my life. I proudly say, Northrise has set me on the path to greatness. Indeed, Northrise University is excellent at what is good!
