The President says education plays an important role in national development. He was speaking when he toured Chama boarding High School in Eastern province on Monday where he encouraged students at the school to study hard in order for them to make a meaningful contribution to national development.

Mr. Banda however said he was sad to note that infrastructure at Chama High School has deteriorated and assured school authorities that government is doing everything possible to address the problem.

President Banda also encouraged female students not to rush into early marriages.
