The Media Team for Impact Ndola 2019 posted an article about the first day of the ministry projects. Specifically their visit to the children’s activities at Mackenzie and Mapalo schools. You can read about it on the Northrise University blog: https://www.northriseuniversity.com/2019/07/09/service/

While some students on the Media Team captured pictures like these others interviewed the children at the schools and the volunteers.

Here are some of those interviews:

Northrise Student – What do you want to be when you grow up?
Sara, age 7 – “I want to be a nurse so I can help people and my mum. My dad got sick and died, so I need to help all the sick people.”

The impact, felt from the Northrise student: Sara’s interview made me tear up, a young girl full of life and has so much faith and full of energy. It reminds me of the word of God, “Have faith like a child.”

Northrise Student – What do you want to be when you grow up?
Mofya, age 5 – “I want to be a doctor so I can heal people fast and inject them”

A Northrise Student spoke with Travis, an accountant from Arizona. He shared how he welcomed the change from his usual schedule. He appreciated the difference in culture and enjoyed playing with the children as well as teaching them about spiritual and biological families.

Daniel, one of the children summed up the impact in response to the question, what do you think about today’s event and what do you expect from impact?

“I am hoping to make friends within the community and with Northrise students. These people are really nice and friendly. So far impact has given me a mindset to be more grateful and joyful in life!”
