In 2004, just 10 years ago, Moffat and Doreen Zimba’s vision of opening a University in their native Zambia became reality; Northrise University was born. Northrise began with just 50 students and two associate degrees. Since that time, program offerings have increased to thirteen four-year undergraduate degrees and three post graduate degrees. Today the University proudly educates over 600 students, including day, evening, and online programs. Northrise Farms was established with the goal of self-sustainability, and has since provided food and work to Northrise University, as well as the surrounding community. The NuCare clinic was built by a gracious partner committed to healthcare, and last year, offered the ministry of primary healthcare to over 500 students and community members. God has been good to Northrise!
This vision has been realized because of God’s faithfulness to us, through all of those friends that have given through time, talent, treasure, and committed prayer. We are pleased to announce that July 8-14, 2014, Dr. and Mrs. Zimba, their staff, faculty and friends of Northrise, both near and far, will gather together to celebrate and commemorate God’s provision and blessing over these ten years. In addition to the planned celebratory events on our God-given land in Ndola, guests and friends will travel to Livingstone, South Africa to relax and enjoy the beautiful country of Africa including a visit to one of the Seven Wonders of the World, Victoria Falls, and a Safari. Please consider joining us for this wonderful opportunity!
