Ecclesiastes 12 and Psalm 150 beautifully conclude what our existence is supposed to be about; fearing God, obeying His commandments and giving Him our praise! Simply put, our creator delights in us revering Him, living by the counsel of His word and worshiping Him in speech and deeds. As the world around us experiences our transformed lives, we witness for Christ, and God’s name is praised! 14th July 2017, marked the conclusion of the week-long ministry of IMPACT NDOLA 2017 with doing just that; praising and worshiping God!

Our praise and worship service started with the Northrise Student Choir leading the throng of students, staff and Friends of Northrise into worship.  After her opening prayer and remarks, Gwanire Kalombe, Head of Student Life, invited Dave Murray, Executive Director at NUI, to share from Psalm 100. Dave encouraged the crowd to serve with gladness and never forgetting that the lord is GOD. Afterwards, the choir graced the progression to VBS stories.

Between the awesomely touching stories of children’s lives being impacted and Dr Zimba’s introduction of the appointed speaker, the NU choir gave a rendition of their anthem song “Lord You Are Good.” Pastor Stephen Hayes followed with a message emphasizing on the love of God in ndola and throughout the world at large. Thereafter, Kelly Shaw, NUI Program and Business Administrator led the participants into a time of sharing testimonies. The Choir took to the helm again, leading the service to a high conclusion with the closing prayer and remarks by Mr. Steven Sikobela, Head of Strategic Partnerships.

In our quest to emulate the ministry of our forerunner, Jesus Christ, we have intentionally set aside a week, every two years, just to intensify our reach to the communities around us. During Impact week, the Northrise University family comes together to preach Jesus, to forge friendships, to support the weak and to foster holistic health. Our prayer is that God will bless the efforts that we have undertaken this year in Mapalo, McKenzie, Mushili, Twapia and Ndola at large.

We trust that through the Men’s Conference, men have been spurred on to seek growth in faith, that the Women’s Conference has given perspective to the pursuits of women, that the children who interacted with the Medical Team will become more mindful of looking after their health, that the business leaders who got involved with NU Farm will improve the profitability of the entity further and that VBS activities have planted seeds of faith in the little children.

Acts 10:38 tells of how Jesus was anointed with the Holy Spirit and went about doing good and healing all who were under the tyranny of the devil. Today, we are honored that God is using the NU family to go about doing good, stimulating the spiritual and material economies, and bringing healing to the people of Zambia. To God be the glory! And indeed, let everything that has breath praise the Lord!
