The vision of Northrise University Care is to provide on-campus primary health care to the students, staff and NUCare blog (1)families of Northrise. Since the clinic doors were opened in the summer of 2011, it has treated over 500 patients, 377 of them in the last year, and treated diseases ranging from pneumonia to malaria. The clinic has recently expanded its services to also conduct seven curative and outreach seminars promoting Primary Health Care to the surrounding community.  These health education seminars teach how to prevent common and treatable local diseases, such as malaria. The effect of NUCare has been exponential, and it continues to grow.

Last summer, NUCare was able to make use of its dentist chair during Impact Ndola when Dr. Arthur Parkins DDS, from Kindred Community Church in California, used his talents in dentistry to bless the community.  81 dental patients were seen over the course of 3 days, some of them for the first time in their lives!

NU Care is not only committed to physical health, but mental and spiritual health as well. The clinic provides individualized, physical, physiological and spiritual care to their clients. This type of approach helps the health workers meet the true needs of each of its patients.  The NUcare clinic has been blessed and continues to bless those around it by improving the health and well-being of Northrise University and its surrounding community.
