NDOLA, ZAMBIA Northrise University (Ndola, Zambia) and Edith Cowan University (Perth, Western Australia) have officially entered into a 5-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish a comprehensive framework for academic cooperation, global learning pathways, and mutual institutional advancement. The agreement was formally executed on August 24, 2026, by Dr. Lameck Mwewa, Vice-Chancellor and President of Northrise University, and Mr. Jake Garman, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (International) and Vice-President of Edith Cowan University.

This landmark agreement builds upon shared values of educational leadership, training excellence, and cross-border innovation. By bridging higher education opportunities between Southern Africa and Australia, the partnership aims to expand global perspectives and strengthen academic capacities for both undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Key Areas of Collaboration:
• Staff & Student Mobility: Exchange opportunities and Study Abroad programs to enhance cultural and academic exchange.
• Articulation Pathways: Flexible degree completion pathways and collaborative teaching and learning frameworks.
• Executive Education & Training: Capacity-building initiatives and professional development programs.
• Joint Research & Knowledge Exchange: Collaborative scientific and academic research in shared strategic areas of interest.
The MOU establishes an active five-year operational framework, setting the stage for specific joint projects and formal academic agreements to follow as programmatic initiatives are rolled out.
