Northrise University Celebrates the Completion of the 2022 Second Semester

Northrise University Chaplain, Pastor Mubanga opened the Christmas Chapel ceremony with prayer, and Dr. David Murray, Deputy Vice-Chancellor/Provost taught about Paul’s letter to the Galatians and encouraged all to live a grateful life in Christ and honor Him by using the gifts, talents, and abilities provided to each student.

Distinguished guests included the Provincial Education Officer, Dr. Stephen Chishiko, the Principle Education Standards Officer Mr. Nyambe Sefulo, the Senior Planning Officer Mr. Miti, and the Executive Officer Mrs. Thandiwe T. Mwanza.

Provincial Education Officer, Dr. Chishiku Remarks
Dr. Chishiko stated that education is about enlightenment and creating awareness. He commended Northrise for blazing a trail as it provides the right type of education which starts and ends with God.

Dr. Chishiko stated that “the first of eight pillars for national development is economic transformation and job creation. Having a Christ-centered institution like Northrise that puts Christ in the center of everything assures hope for the future, and Zambia shall never be the same.”
Speaking directly to the young people, he encouraged them to choose a mentor and a guide to help them achieve their goals.

Presentation of Leadership Awards
Northrise University celebrates the hard work, dedication, and courage necessary for students to achieve academic excellence.
Dr. Chishiku, Dr. Murray, Mr. Chisanga, and Mr. Lungu presented awards to the student leaders from the Student Council and student clubs including the Health Club, Intellectual Square, Creative Arts, Lasanu, Business Club, Innovators Arcade, and Climate Change. All these are part of interactive educational extracurricular activities offered at Northrise University.

Awards were given to the peer academic mentors, students who help tutor fellow junior students in the courses they have already successfully taken. Twenty peer academic mentors were awarded.

High academic achievement awards were presented by Mr. Kingsley Chisanga, to students for attaining GPAs for both the Dean’s List and the President’s List.

The Dean of the Law School presented the Moot Court Award to the first and second-best speakers Daniel Sakala and Noreen Matimba.

Dr. David Murray closed with Proverbs 3:5-6 and suggested that students should never lean on their own understanding, but should always seek God for wisdom before they make a decision.

Pastor Mugala released everyone with a Blessing from the Lord.
