Students in ClassAfter a long recess, Northrise University students are back in session eager to learn and engage in a variety of activities both in and outside of the classroom environment. August 4th kicked off this semester with newly accepted students beginning their academic journey with O-Week; a week full of orientation activities and a Seminar – Introduction to University Studies. Returning students joined in on August 10th to begin their second semester in this academic year.
While it’s only the beginning of the semester, 4th year students are already spending long hours in the Library, obviously searching for huge dividends from their studies. On the other hand, freshmen are exhilarated by a new sense of purpose and the majority seems ready to make the most of this wonderful opportunity. It’s a fact that some are yet to learn what it truly means to be a university student let alone what tradeoffs they must make to excel but their faces spell, ‘I am ready and up for this long and important journey.’

And today, August 17, all our DAY students, staff and faculty gathered for the first Chapel of the semester and the choir led in amazing worship with their heavenly voices. Pastor Mubanga, a Northrise Theology graduate preached on “Developing the heart of Love”  a message that provoked all of us to go about loving one another with the love of the Lord because:

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres. Love never fails. 1 Cor 13:1-8

I am glad that we have started the semester on a love note, creating a right kind of atmosphere where true love can be felt and all can go all-out in serving one another.
