From Classroom to Global Impact: How One Northrise Graduate is Empowering a Generation through Digital Skills

Through a heart rooted in service and a mind sharpened by Northrise’s holistic education, this graduate is living proof that one life touched by Northrise can go on to impact thousands more.

1. How well do you feel Northrise University prepared you for the professional world?

Northrise University prepared me exceptionally well for the professional world. Its holistic approach to education—combining academic excellence with spiritual and character formation—gave me a solid foundation not only to thrive in the workplace but also to lead with integrity and purpose. I left Northrise not just qualified, but confident in my ability to make a difference.

2. What skills or values from Northrise have been most useful in your current job or career path?

I am a self-starter. The most powerful values I walked away with were integrity, servant leadership, and excellence in execution. These values have anchored my work as a digital skills coach, entrepreneur, and mentor. Today, I train and mentor students across Zambia and beyond in Web Development, Microsoft Excel, Social Media Marketing, and Graphic Design.

Through platforms like Udemy and my personal brand, Negocio Konnect Digital Skills, I’ve taught over 1,000 students locally and internationally over the past two years. I attribute this impact to foundational skills in communication, public speaking, innovation, and lifelong learning—skills Northrise instilled in me. I am always reminded of Proverbs 22:29 when I reflect on how far a skilled person can go.

3. In what ways is your current work allowing you to contribute positively to your community?

My work is deeply rooted in community transformation. Through Negocio Konnect Digital Skills, I am empowering young people with practical, marketable digital skills that open doors to income opportunities in a challenging economy. My vision is to help as many young Zambians as possible learn high-income skills that allow them to thrive despite high unemployment.

And yes, I’ve seen the real impact. Many of my students, some with no prior experience, are now working as freelancers, digital marketers, and designers. It’s fulfilling to witness lives transformed through knowledge and mentorship. All my trainings are conducted online, making them accessible across borders.

4. Can you share an example of a meaningful impact you’ve made in your workplace or community?

One of the most meaningful moments for me is when I witness someone regain their hope and confidence after learning a digital skill. I’ve seen students who once felt hopeless launch their own online businesses as content creators or freelancers after taking my Udemy courses. These success stories affirm the belief that empowering one individual can transform generations—because many of these individuals are also breadwinners and caregivers.

5. How has your Northrise experience shaped the way you engage with society today?

Northrise taught me to live for something greater than myself. That’s why I view every class I teach and every course I record as an act of service. Whether I’m recording for Udemy students worldwide or mentoring youth in person, I carry the heart of Northrise: transforming lives through faith-driven leadership and meaningful societal engagement. And I absolutely love it.

My Message to Northrise Students:

Don’t limit your learning to the classroom. Don’t use school as an excuse not to explore new skills. Digital skills are not just for IT or Computer Science students, they’re for everyone. Over the past two years, I’ve trained teachers, doctors, nurses, engineers, farmers, craftsmen, business owners… you name it.

Your degree is important, but your skills are what will set you apart in the real world. If you can design, market, code, analyze data, close a sale, or communicate online effectively, you’ve already positioned yourself for global relevance.

Challenge your mind. Think global. And never stop learning.
